The
Adaptation Challenges Workshop 2010 is a side event to the 2010 International Climate Change Adaptation Conference. The workshop will identify key challenges facing Australia in moving beyond a sectoral approach to adaptation and developing a national integrated response.
The workshop will reach across social, scientific and policy concerns facing Australia in the immediate and long term.
The workshop will inform a report produced by the workshop project team that provides details of the potential synergies and trade-offs needing to be managed when developing Australia`s national-scale adaptation responses.
This report will be sent to relevant Federal and State Government Departments and freely downloadable from this site. The report aims to inform decision making and policy development in all key sectors of Australian society.
Selected members from the public, policy and science domains have been invited to provide their views on the key adaptation challenges facing Australia. Their responses will set the agenda for the discussions and activities undertaken at the one-day Adaptation Challenges Workshop 2010.
Those who register for the 2010 Climate Change Adaptation Futures Conference at the Gold Coast from 29 July to 1 July, Conference will also be asked to share their thoughts on adaptation challenges facing Australia.
Who Should Attend - Around 80 leaders from the Australian and international climate change arena will be invited to the workshop
