Description
Conference will address each of these very important HIV care issues including antiretroviral regimen selection with respect to current clinical trial data, the detection and management of primary care concerns specific to HIV+ individuals, as well as the implementation and maintenance of HIV care in light of current and forthcoming changes in state- and federal-level healthcare policies and programs.
With the advent of new antiretroviral drugs and drug classes, the prognosis for those living with HIV infection has continued to improve. Recent clinical trial data has refined understanding of the virologic efficacy, safety, and tolerability of the increasingly complex antiretroviral treatment choices. At the same time, however, increased antiretroviral virologic efficacy and safety have lowered the incidence of treatment and disease complications leading to increased longevity and a concomitant increase in commonplace health problems experienced by HIV+ individuals.
