Postgraduate Course - Imaging Challenges and Clinical Perspectives in Pediatric Radiology April 13-14, 2010
53rd Annual Meeting April 14-17, 2010
The Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR) Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course will provide pediatric and general radiologists with an opportunity to do the following:
- Summarize current information on state-of-the-art pediatric imaging and the practice of pediatric radiology.
- Describe new technologies for pediatric imaging such as cone beam CT/interventional procedure guidance, MR urography, cardiac MRI especially related to congenital heart disease. You ll also understand 3D and advanced workstation use and capabilities and be able to successfully apply the knowledge and skills appropriately.
- Review common problems facing pediatric radiologists and possible solutions, including PACS systems, teleradiology equipment and technology, patient safety initiatives and tracking, and organization of interventional radiology and vascular access services.
- Evaluate and apply organizational principles and techniques of minimizing radiation exposure during diagnostic imaging of children.
- Review the latest approaches to pediatric imaging and correlate with radiation reduction, procedure safety, and clinical outcomes.
- Describe new advances in research and imaging.
- Review the broad scope of pediatric radiology as it relates to everyday practice.
At the conclusion of the experience, participants should have an improved understanding of the technologies discussed, increasing awareness of the hazards of diagnostic radiation to children and ways to minimize them, and an improved general knowledge of pediatric radiology.
