Description
This timely seminar will follow the completion of the Education Select Committee`s wide-ranging inquiry on the subject and will bring together policy makers and key stakeholders to discuss the implications of the Government`s proposals to give new powers to schools and teachers to tackle poor pupil discipline. Participants will discuss the proposals and their possible implementation, including giving teachers the power to search pupils and removing the requirement for written notice of detentions outside school hours.
We expect sessions to examine the level and nature of poor behaviour within schools and the impact poor behaviour has on other pupils and teachers. The different approaches taken by schools to manage poor behaviour and how positive behaviour can be supported will also be considered.
