The association was founded in 1953. Its objects are the advancement of study, practice and research in surgery for children to cultivate professional relations with paediatric surgeons overseas Meet the Experts Sessions:
Urology - Chaired by John Hutson; topics include Varicoele (Laparoscopic Paloma vs Embolisation), Impalpable testis (Controversies and single vs 2 stage Fowler-Stephens procedure) maximum of 30 delegates
Thoracic - Chaired by Professor Robert Kelly and Mr David Crabbe maximum of 30 delegates
BAPES Endoscopic session - Chairs and titles to be confirmed maximum of 30 delegates
Gastro-intestinal - Chaired by Professor Yann Revillon, and Professor Mark Davenport; topics include Short Bowel Syndrome and Intestinal Transplantation maximum of 30 delegates
