Description

This course is designed to provide a broad-based review of clinical conditions in oral and maxillofacial pathology. Developing a differential diagnosis on the basis of clinical information will be emphasized. Radiographic conditions, soft tissue masses, ulcers, and pigmented lesions will be included. This course is appropriate for dentists, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, ENT surgeons, general pathologists, residents, fellows, dental hygientists and other practitioners who are interested in the clinical aspects of diagnosing oral and maxillofacial disease.

NOTE: Each participant will be given the syllabus on CD. There will be no printed syllabus. The syllabus will also be available on www.askafip.org.


Participants in Clinical Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology will gain:
  • Enhanced recognition of the clinical features of common and unique diseases of the oral and
    maxillofacial region, including salivary glands.
  • Improved ability to formulate a differential diagnosis, leading to an appropriate treatment plan
    with further diagnostic tests as needed.
  • Better understanding of clinicopathologic correlations.
