Critical Contributions of the Orbitofrontal Cortex to Behavior 2011

  • 30 Mar - 01 Apr, 2011
  • New York Academy of Sciences Conference Center, New York City, NY, United States

Description

Despite an enormous increase in knowledge of the orbitofrontal cortex over the last 10 years, we still do not have an account of the critical contribution that orbitofrontal cortex makes across different circuits to support human behavior. This conference will address the following topics:

  1. presentation of the most recent advances in our understanding of the structure and function of the OFC,
  2. an overview of the contribution of OFC to emotional memory and interactions between OFC and the amygdala,
  3. the role of OFC in assigning value in decision making, and
  4. the role of OFC in decision making under uncertainty.
