After 20 years of active research and development of design and fabrication techniques, diffractive optics is approaching a status of mature technology in addition to the ongoing fundamental basic and applied research, we can find diffractive optics in increasingly many applications which are either completely based on diffraction phenomenon or diffractive solution is remarkably more compact, light-weight, or cost-effective than its alternatives.
The
EOS Topical Meeting on Diffractive Optics 2010 gathers the scientists and engineers working in the field of diffractive optics in industry or academic institutes. The scope of the meeting is to give the attendees a wide picture of the field, from fundamental modelling of light matter interaction to design techniques and from fabrication techniques to novel applications.
The EOS meeting on Diffractive Optics will include focus sessions on Optics in Displays, Illumination, and Vision as well as a seminar Unified Optical Modeling with VirtualLab.
