This Evening Session on Category 4 Screening Levels (C4SLs) 2014 features a short introductory perspectives from key industry players involved in contaminated land, including a member of the team who devised the C4SLs, followed by a chaired debate and informal drinks.
Category 4 Screening Levels (C4SLs) were long in the making, having gone through rigorous procedures prior to their recent publication. Category 4 is part of the new four category system for classifying land under Part 2A, and describes land that is clearly not contaminated land.
However, despite being highly anticipated, since publication the C4SLs have left the industry with many unanswered questions and a lot of uncertainty still over their practical use in both Part 2A and planning decisions.
