Description
The FIDE (International Federation for European Law) consists of national Associations for European law (one per EU-member state, as well as some non-member states such as Switzerland or Norway as an associate member). Its most important activity is the Congresses held every two years. The Spanish Association for the Study of European Law has been entrusted with organizing the next Congress to take place from 3 to 6 November 2010.
The three major topics of the Congress are as follows: The Role of National Parliaments in the European Union , The Judicial Application of Competition Law and Public Capital and Private Capital in the Internal Market . As is a trait of FIDE Congress 2010es, the topics will be discussed on the basis of three General Reports, three EU Reports and National Reports prepared by the representatives of the various National Associations. The General Rapporteurs are three renowned legal experts: Miroslaw Wyrzykowski, a judge with the Polish Constitutional Court; Santiago Mart nez Lage, a lawyer with Howrey Mart nez Lage; and Piet J. Slot, a Professor at the University of Leiden.
