PURPOSE This course is designed to provide participants with state of the art information from authoritative experts to achieve efficient and appropriate management of a broad spectrum of emergency patients.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND Board-certified emergency physicians, nurses, physician assistants and other health-care professionals involved in emergency care, as well as primary care physicians looking for updates in the practice of emergency medicine.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES Upon completion of this activity, participants will:
- Sharpen EKG interpretation skills and recognize subtle manifestations of life-threatening disease
- Recognize and appropriately treat pediatric patients with common and uncommon abdominal emergencies
- Describe and perform a brief neurologic exam that will not miss important findings
- Identify commonly overlooked history and physical findings of potential life threatening conditions
