Description
The 3-day course targets those who will be writing the ABR physics examination in the fall of 2010. The course is not intended to be an introduction to Imaging Physics, and course participants are strongly recommended to arrive at the course already having reviewed a textbook such as Review of Radiologic Physics, 3rd Edition by W Huda, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins; (2010) and/or an in-house resident Imaging Physics Course.
Topics covered include x-ray production and interaction, radiography, mammography, fluoroscopy, CT, image quality, medical dosimetry, nuclear medicine, radiation biology, radiation protection, MRI, and ultrasound. The two first days will end with a session that focuses on the ABR exam. The ABR exam will be described, teaching hints will be reviewed, and recall questions from the audience will be reviewed.
The 3-day course format differs from the traditional 4-day format mainly in that there are no question reviews at the completion of each set of lectures. There is approximately 95% overlap in the didactic content with the 4-day course.
Three on line exams (120 questions each) are available (at discount) which can be taken at any time after the course to help prepare for the ABR exam.
