Pediatric age group constitutes about one third of the world population, marinating their optimal health starting as early as in the premarital stage and continuing through pregnancy, neonatal period, infancy, childhood and adolescence have its repercussions not only on their well being, but on the future of the society as a whole. More over, understanding their patterns of health and disease is important for planning health and social policies and for monitoring changes occurring overtime.
