Description
The 2010 IEEE Information Theory Workshop on Information Theory (ITW 2010, Cairo) will take place on January 6-8 in Cairo, Egypt. Cairo is the capital city of Egypt and is the largest city in Africa and the Arab world. The workshop is held at a historic hotel (The Mena House Hotel) in the shadow of the great pyramids, which is a short distance from the city center.
Its purpose is to be a forum for technical exchange among scientists and engineers working on fundamentals of information theory. The agenda are broad and will cover the diverse topics that information theory presently impacts.
There will be both invited and contributed sessions. Papers for the contributed sessions are solicited, but not limited to, the following areas:
* Coding theory and practice
* Cryptography
* Detection and estimation
* Information theory and statistics
* Multiterminal information theory
* Pattern recognition and learning
* Shannon theory
* Source coding
