This third seminar , is preceded by the 2nd International Seminar carried out in November 2008; occasion in which 35 prominent scientific and high level professionals, from countries like : Japan, Germany, England, France, China, Russia, and Spain, gathered in Havana in an effort to create a space for academic exchange and scientific discussions with cuban professional of different fields about these topics , which are essential frontiers of knowledge and innovation in today s world, and shall have a revolutionary impact in societies and economies throughout 21st century.
It is expected to contribute to opening new cooperation paths for the development of the emerging Center for Advanced Cuban studies (CEAC); its human resources, and to the consolidation of the existent and emerging networks in the country. Besides, it is expected to provide elements for the design of a national strategy in this field.
The 3rd International Seminar will include plenary lectures , parallel sessions consisting of thematic panels, lectures and oral presentations on the following themes:
- Bionanotechnology and Nanomedicine;
- Functional and Nanostructured Nanomaterials. Applications;
- Nanocharacterization and Computational Modeling;
- Nanosafety and public perception of Nanotechnology.
