Description
The primary aim of the IUMAS-V conference is to provide an opportunity to present and discuss the latest developments of diverse microbeam analysis science and technology based on electron, ion and particle beams at micro to atomic levels in theory and instrumentations.
The conference also focuses on practical applications of the microbeam analysis techniques to solve fundamental problems in materials, physical and biological sciences. The goal is to promote stimulating discussions among researchers specializing in microbeam and probe methods.
The 1st Meeting of IUMAS (International Union of Microbeam Analysis Societies) was held in 1996 in Sydney (Australia), the 2nd one was organized in 2000 in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii (USA), the 3rd one in 2005 at Florence (Italy) and the 4th one in 2008 at Perth (Australia). Now the 5th IUMAS Meeting is to be held in 2011 at Seoul (Korea) jointly with ALC 11 Symposium.
In conjunction with IUMAS-V, ALC 11 (8th International Symposium on Atomic Level Characterizations for New Materials and Devices 11) will be held at the same conference facility. Participants of IUMAS-V can also have chance to attend ALC 11 sessions, free of charge.
