This Symposium is a satellite meeting of OzBio 2010 and is sponsored by CSIRO and the Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
The aims of this symposium are to better understand and exploit a fundamental concept of life the regulation of energy acquisition, storage and use. The cross-species approach we are encouraging will provide unique insights into the core principles of metabolic regulation that impact many human diseases as well as sustainability of our food supply.
The aims of this symposium are to better understand and exploit a fundamental concept of life the regulation of energy acquisition, storage and use.
The Symposium will be structured around several themes:
- the concept of metabolic efficiency
- molecular regulation
- the role of mitochondria
- impact of epigenetic factors
- contribution of the gut microbiome
- evolutionary conservation
- inflamation and metabolism
- systems biology.
Presentations will also be selected from submitted abstracts.
Awards will be presented for the best student poster.
