An interactive display , led by an expert personality, will feature hands-on involvement from audience members. Visitors will learn the fundamentals of key gardening skills such as: propagation from seed, roots or cuttings, grafting, re-potting, tool maintenance and selection, pruning and transplanting.
Stage presentations will educate visitors on numerous issues about the variety of creatures coexisting in a thriving and dynamic garden ecosystem. This could include:
Productive Animals: bees and chickens provide wonderful home produce as well as essential pollination and manure to fertilise
Attracting Native Birds: what to plant for and feed native birds
Creepy Crawly Bugs & Spiders: how to identify, friend or foe

Garden retreats are not only for the quarter acre block. Apartments terraces and town houses can all have a thriving green sanctuary. The Inner City Sanctuary display will demonstrate innovative ways to bring gardens into small spaces through use of elements such as space defying vertical gardens, easy care plants, innovative storage and integrated furniture.
Live stage demonstrations on the how-to`s of the complete cycle of sustainable vegetable growing. Three sub-stages - Compost, Cultivation, and Control - will sit adjacent in an arc, with presentations by the expert personalities rotating in turn. Each segment will be 20 minutes in duration with a smooth transition to the next. Each sub-stage will contain an identical demonstration garden bed, angled to the audience, at a different stage
