The PONI Spring Conference will mark the beginning of the 2011 conference series. The Spring Conference will feature two days of selected presentations from graduate students and young professionals in the fieldon a variety of policy and technical topics, breakout sessions, and an evening reception and dinner at the Atomic Testing Museum on the 4th. On the third day of the event (April 6th), participants will be able to tour the Nevada National Security Site (formerly known as the Nevada Test Site), with highlights including the Frenchman Flats, U1A Underground Subcritical Testing Facility, IceCap Ground Zero, Sedan Crater, Area 15 Source Physics Experiment and the T-1 Training Area.
Each year the PONI conference series brings together graduate students, young professionals and experts from the nuclear laboratories, the policy community, academia, and military and defense establishments. It therefore represents a tremendous opportunity to not only stimulate new thinking and move the debate forward on a wide range of nuclear issues, but to also to connect junior and senior experts from all sectors.
