Psychotherapy Section Annual Training Conference 2010 in association with Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust

  • 29-30 Mar 2010
  • Van Mildert College, Durham University, United Kingdom

Description

The conference (eligible for CPD accreditation) combines presentations, workshops and discussions around the theme of:

`Beyond Words: Trauma and the Human Condition`

Trauma impacts on individuals, families and societies in ways that challenge the human capacity to endure, survive and grow. This conference provides an opportunity to learn how psychotherapy, of various theoretical orientations, endeavours to transform the unspeakable and bear the intolerable, often challenging psychotherapists to go beyond the technicalities of words, of therapeutic techniques, in the search for understanding and enabling of individual growth and recovery. Our keynote speakers and presenters have demonstrated this in their search to improve psychotherapeutic theory and practice and their work sets the context for this conference.
