Description
The 10th Annual Rachmiel Levine Symposium, entitled Advances in Diabetes Biology, Immunology and Cell Therapy, will be held March 14-17, 2010 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. The program will cover topics in islet biology, including beta cell regeneration, and in islet immunology, including new advances in understanding autoimmunity, role of inflammation in the genesis of disease and current and future strategies for immune modulation as treatment modalities. In addition, the meeting will cover topics linking pathophysiology of type 1 and type 2 diabetes and new insight into metabolic effects of bariatric surgery, metabolic changes in pregnancy, and closed loop system development.
The meeting will also highlight the results of recent diabetes clinical trials and conduct technical workshops in islet biology and include a poster session, oral session, debate sessions, and a keynote dinner lectureship.
