The Congress will incorporate speakers from diverse areas that have implications for current and future urologic research. To start the meeting, the annual Leland Chung Lecture will be given by Dr. Drew Pardoll, MD, PhD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His talk will address the immune microenvironment of tumors. Plenary sessions will be presented on Host/Immune Interactions: A Bidirectional Strategy; Aging, Obesity and Co-Morbidities: Immunologic Impacts of Urologic Function; Reactive Oxygen Species; and Innovative Therapeutics: Targeting Immune/Inflammatory Agents. In addition, a workshop addressing the development and commercialization of laboratory inventions will be addressed. Speakers from industry, the NCI and legal aspects will be included in this novel and important area. In addition to the scientific lectures, there will be several highly interactive poster sessions and also a job fair. At the Annual Banquet the SBUR Meritorious Award will be presented to Dr. Robert Vessella, Seattle, Washington.
