This seminar will take a fresh look at new approaches to maintaining the effectiveness of public health strategies, media campaigns, and education initiatives - in particular those related to alcohol, sexual health, obesity, smoking and drug policy. Timed to follow the recent White Paper Healthy lives, healthy people, planned sessions consider how proposals for a move towards greater local authority responsibility for public health and the establishment of Public Health England will affect service delivery and public health outcomes. Sessions will also examine the role of local communities, social enterprises and the third sector in communicating public health messages to the public.
