Description
Following India s national elections, the last India Economic Summit brought together the Prime Minister of India and 15 members of the Union Cabinet with international and domestic business leaders to outline an agenda for inclusive growth. This year s Summit has the objective of moving from an agenda to action. It will focus on how domestic and international decision-makers from business, government and civil society can implement national policies across states in both rural and urban areas. To fulfil the goal of achieving double-digit growth, India s imperatives include building critical infrastructure, expanding skills development and achieving income and gender equality.
The programme for this year s Summit will convene under the theme Implementing India and will pay particular attention to how the necessities for inclusive social and economic progress can be delivered and serve as a model for other developing economies.
