The pandemic of avian H1N1 influenza has, so far, presented enormous challenges to healthcare professionals and researchers worldwide. Many countries have just come through their first wave of H1N1 influenza; others still have yet to face it. However, this novel and unpredictable virus will surely continue to threat the public health in the future.Therefore, it is of the upmost urgency that we share what we have learnt thus far and decide how we can use this knowledge to prepare for and combat the disease in the future. This two-day forum, hosted by China CDC and co-organized by Elsevier, brings together leaders in the field of health from all over the world, with experts from WHO, the US CDC, European CDC, and other leading healthcare institutions.
