Description
Following this course, the participant should be able to identify the diagnostic and therapeutic options for commonly seen disorders; apply an approach to exercise, sports participation and special problems in athletes such as the use of steroids and stimulants; implement proper treatment and follow-up or referral of the patient with injuries and fractures. This activity is expected to result in increased confidence in making an appropriate diagnosis and providing effective treatment and referral or follow-up care with the overall goal of improving patient outcomes.
The emphasis will be on current guidelines and evidence-based medicine, as indicated within each topic s specific objectives. Since Sports Medicine and Urgent Care issues commonly present in many clinical settings to include EM, FM, UC and Pediatric EM, this course was designed as a review and update for all practitioners at the level of a practicing physician.
