Description
Right from the very outset, the VENUS trade show in Berlin was conceived as an event with a special focus on industry and commerce. Whereas the 1st VENUS still took place on the fair grounds under the radio tower and had to make do with a single 10,000-square metre hall accommodating 124 exhibitors, the number of exhibitors has in the meantime risen to over 400, taking up as space more than 30,000 square metres in a total of 8 buildings. More than 6,000 specialty retailers visit the trade show every year. And last but not least, even news coverage of the show has taken a quantum leap of quality, and along with it, consumer visitor figures. It became evident very early on, that the show would have to be split up into various different areas to cater to the ever-expanding and ever-more-variegated tastes of the exhibitors and their customers alike. Not everyone was happy with the enormous onslaught of customers, and some businesspeople even appeared to be bothered by it. Hence, the original building has over the years been split up into what has by now grown into seven different AREAS.
