Description
This seminar will offer a timely opportunity to consider the future of vocational education in England. It is scheduled as the Government begins its wide-ranging review, looking at the future organisation of vocational courses, their responsiveness to a changing labour market and ways to increase participation by young people.
Delegates will examine the future organisation of vocational education for 14-19 year olds, including the proposed expansion of apprenticeships, the appropriate target audience and the age young people should be beginning courses. Future content and teaching methods will also be considered, in addition to examining how vocational education can best respond to the current and expected future labour market. Sessions will also examine progression routes from vocational education into the world of work and higher education, and the introduction of University Technical Colleges as proposed by the Secretary of State.
