Description
This seminar will discuss the next steps required to meet the challenge of obesity and assess the progress of regional and national approaches to obesity prevention in achieving lasting behavioural change. Planned sessions examine the way forward in developing evidence-based practice in obesity prevention and care, and participants will analyse the performance of current social marketing campaigns such as Change4Life. Discussion will also consider the cost-effectiveness of different approaches to tackling obesity in the context of constraints on public spending. The timing of this seminar will allow delegates to evaluate proposals in the Public Health White Paper, and will examine the impact of the White Paper on the provision of weight management services and care across the health service and local authorities.
