Description
This seminar examines offender rehabilitation, both inside and outside the prison gates. It follows the recent announcement by Government of a proposed `rehabilitation revolution`, which will look to tackle the `revolving door of offending`, and the ongoing Government review of prison education programmes.
Bringing together policy makers from across Whitehall with key stakeholders, sessions are expected to examine what more can be done to prepare offenders for life after prison, as well as the future for the provision of education and training in prisons. The rehabilitation offenders are offered upon completion of their sentence will also be considered, with a particular focus on how prisoners can resettle into the community and the level of education and employment available to them.
