Description
This seminar will bring together policy makers, senior radio executives, other media professionals and commentators to examine the prospects for radio - including `what now?` for digital radio in the UK. The Government position now is to keep 2015 as "a target to aspire to" for switchover, and they have announced the creation of the Digital Radio Action Plan which has scheduled an assessment of the progress made against the switchover-triggering criteria of 50% listenership and 90% coverage for the second half of this year. Is digital radio still the future? In an era of iTunes, Napster and Last.fm, how can consumers be encouraged to upgrade their sets? Is the timetable for increasing listeners and coverage achievable? And, beyond the switch to digital, what is the future for radio and the companies providing it in the UK?
