The aim of this conference is to provide an intellectual-collaborative space for contemporary debates on the co-constitutive nature of cultures, practices and human mind, the adequacy of the theoretical and conceptual tools used for studying these relationships and the future of the psychological sciences in 21st century India. The theme of the conference Mind, Culture and Human Activities: Psychological Sciences in Twenty First Century seeks to examine how human minds and subjectivities are formed in collectives, how do they interact and how do they change each other including the practice itself. On behalf of NAOP 2010 scientific committee, we invite you to submit symposium proposals and papers for oral and poster sessions and to participate. We look forward to seeing you this December in JNU, New Delhi.
Following its intellectual tradition of debate, the XXth Annual Convention of NAOP announces its mandate to encourage submission of original and thought provoking empirical and theoretical papers from all areas of psychological research that engage in social, political and historical analysis of cultural practices of diverse religious, caste and ethnic communities in India and its bearing on human minds and their psychological wellbeing. Debates are invited on the theoretical and empirical tools that the Indian psychologists use to study the development of human mind in conditions of poverty, discrimination and uneven economic and social development resulting from rapid urbanization and globalization in India.
